Reflecting on Pinda’s bid for the top office

On October 26 , 2014 four opposition parties signed a pact to mount a united challenge to oust the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) in the 2015 General Election.

The Civic United Front’s Seif Shariff Hamad yesterday picked up nomination forms for a fifth attempt at the Isles’ presidency and challenged President Ali Mohammed Shein to publicly state that he would be ready to accept defeat in a free and fair election.
