South Sudan rivals Salvaa Kiir and Riek Machar strike unity deal

The leaders of South Sudan’s warring factions on Wednesday agreed to a political deal designed to boost efforts to end their year-old civil war, diplomats said.

Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni gave his South Sudan counterpart Salva Kiir an earful.
