State launches team of negotiators for gas deals

Major African oil, natural gas and mineral producers in Africa, such as Tanzania, have been told to be careful about signing deals with multinational companies whose main agenda is to reap profits.

Two branches of the Tanzania govt reached a point where they sought to stare each other down on a matter of principle and practice! In the event, however, it isn’t quite clear which of the two blinked first - whereby one branch effectively imposed its will upon the other!
