Sumatra yet to approve TRL proposal on tariffs

The Surface and Marine Transport Regulatory Authority (Sumatra) has been told to be transparent in dealing with tariff proposals so that stakeholders can comment on them.

The energy regulator has assured Tanzanians that the price of electricity will from June this year decline after the natural gas project is completed.

Consumers will have to wait a bit longer than expected until the system of generating power from natural gas stabilises before electricity tariffs are lowered.

Water supply continues to be problematic in Tanzania, much as the country boasts numerous water sources.
