ECONOMIC REFLECTIONS : Govt should support private education, not ruin it

Since last year, the government has shown great desire to have some direct control over tuition rates for private education. Earlier this month, a circular was issued instructing private schools not to increase school fees for the 2016 academic year until they receive further instructions from the Commissioner of Education. While the reasons for such control might be noble, this initiative is seriously misguided.
