Uganda gives iPads to all MPs

At least 91 MPs had by yesterday evening signed a document in support of a drive to re-introduce the Anti-Homosexuality Act 2014, which was nullified by the Constitutional Court last Friday, on grounds that Parliament passed it without the required quorum.

Court has ruled that the four NRM ‘rebel’ MPs are in Parliament illegally. This means they have been thrown out of Parliament and cannot be allowed to attend proceedings in the House.

The political heat generated by the perceived contest between Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi and President Museveni for the NRM party flag bearer in the 2016 presidential race has now spread up-country.
