Ugandan rebels surrender in CAR

United Nations, Saturday. The United Nations Security Council on Friday issued a fresh warning to Rwandan ethnic Hutu rebels in the Democratic Republic of Congo to surrender or face possible military action.

At least 12 people have been killed in an overnight attack blamed on Ugandan rebels in the restive east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, a witness and local NGO said Monday.

At least 11 people have been killed and dozens injured in an attack on a church in the Central African Republic.

Cameroon's military has freed 16 hostages, including a Polish priest, captured by rebels from the Central African Republic (CAR), the president says.
