Washington voices concern on Rwandan opposition arrests

Chadema Coast Region has on Sunday condemned the spate of arrest to opposition political leaders. Party's secretary of information and communication in Dar es Salaam region, Mr Tambwe Hizza told a press conference that Chadema was condemning the ongoing arrest because they violated the country's constitution.

The Constituent Assembly (CA) agreed yesterday that dissenting views in committees should be formally tabled before the Constituent Assembly.

>Tanzania marked Labour Day on Thursday with workers pushing the government to raise salaries, reduce Pay As You Earn income tax and review pension schemes. The Trade Union Congress of Tanzania wants the minimum salary raised from Sh170,000 to Sh750,000 to cover the ever-rising cost of living.
