>Let’s face it, research in Tanzania is side-lined regardless of the remarkable boost on its spending. The 1986 Tanzania’s science and technology policy specified to spend 3.5 per cent of the GDP on the advancement of science and technology in the country. But it was later noted that the spending was not achievable. In 1995, the policy was revised and it was recommended that the research budget should be at least one per cent of the GDP.

  Eastern and Southern African Universities Research Programme (ESAURP) has today launched a project geared on formalizing of Micro, Small and Medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) covering ten (10) regions of mainland Tanzania; Arusha, Kilimanajaro, Mbeya, Iringa, Kagera, Mtwara, Kigoma, Singida, Morogoro, Dodoma.
