Ziff- Opening Weekend Events

The Zanzibar International Film Festival 2014 kicks off on Saturday June 14th with a series of exciting events and screenings.  ZIFF’s Opening Night this year is a special celebration honouring 20 Years of Democracy in South Africa with the screening of Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.

Joining us at ZIFF For this very special event will be one of the stars of the film, well-known and loved South African actress Terry Pheto..

ZIFF ANNOUNCES NEW COMPETITION AT ZIFF 2015 — EAST AFRICAN MUSIC VIDEO AWARDS

 In response to a rising groundswell of requests and recognizing the role and place ZIFF has in developing the film and creative industries in Tanzania and east Africa ZIFF has today announced the ZIFF East African Music Video Awards Competition. The Awards are managed in collaboration with Push Mobile Media Limited.

 Monday was a special day at ZIFF 2015, with a unique and memorable day of film and music in perfect harmony. July 20th saw the screening of the Moussa Diallo biopic, Sound Tracks of Life Moussa Diallo – followed by a live performance from Moussa Diallo himself. The film screening was introduced by Diallo himself, and filmmaker Helle Toft, who elaborated on the personal yet universal themes in the film; reconciliation and forgiveness. New terminal opening 2016

It shall be recalled that actual construction of Terminal III commenced on January 23, 2014 and is going on well. Generally speaking, it has reached 60 per cent. The three floors, steel structured building is now at the roofing stage. Construction of an apron and a taxiway has reached a base course level while that of a 1.7 million litre reservoir for clean water is complete.
