Govt move to retake Mponde tea factory pleases farmers

The Deputy Minister for Finance, Mr Mwigulu Nchemba, has said the release of funds for reopening the Mponde Tea Factory has been delayed because of other commitments regarding the forthcoming General Election.

The conflict between tea farmers in Bumbuli, leaders of Usambara Tea Growers Association (Utega) and Lushoto Tea Company, which manages Mponde Tea Factory, has taken a new turn.
