Increase social spending for growth: ILO

>It is a fact that, social security funds contribute to poverty reduction and sustainable development. Yet, a Social Protection Report 2014 indicates that although social protection is widely recognised, the majority of the world’s population does not access basic social security rights.

Unemployment will rise by 11 million in the next five years due to slower growth and turbulence, the UN warned on Tuesday. More than 212 million people will be jobless by 2019 against the current level of 201 million, the International Labour Organisation said.
