Migrants speak of horror at sea off Malta

Nearly 3,700 migrants rescued in several operations in the Mediterranean Sea, Italian coastguard says.

More than 1,200 migrants enter Spain illegally by sea over two days as the government denies reports that Morocco failed to mount patrols.

Many migrants trying to reach Europe come from war zones in the Middle East, but a great number are also trying to escape poverty and turmoil in Africa.
