Expectations are high as the nation goes to the polls tomorrow. In most instances the National Electoral Commission (NEC) has done a commendable job. However, the majority of Tanzanians, according to a report by the Coalition on Election Monitoring and Observation in Tanzania, will go to cast their vote without sufficient knowledge on electoral regulations.

The opposition camp said yesterday that the National Electoral Commission (NEC) strategically demarcated constituencies before the October 25 General Elecion to favour the ruling CCM.

The opposition coalition has helped the two parties gain more seats than they did in the previous polls

The opposition has won in seven constituencies out of nine in Moshi region breaking the record set in 1995 when they only took six seats.

The ruling CCM has managed to defend the Korogwe urban and Korogwe Rural parliamentary seats after its candidates Mr Stephen Ngonyani alias Maji Marefu and Ms Mary Chatanda respectively defeated the opposition candidates.
