Our new Mtwara branch targets rural people: bank

The First National Bank (FNB) opened its newest branch in the city yesterday amid reports that its operating losses are declining as it moves towards the breakeven point.

It was all cheers as VisionFund Tanzania, a new banking facility, was officially inaugurated in Arusha the other week with prospects that it would boost small businesses and reach out to rural farmers.

>CRDB Bank plans to start offering loans to Savings and Credit Cooperatives (Saccos) in the country in a bid to increase financial inclusion by reaching more people in the country.

Advans Bank has been operating in Dar es Salaam for about three years. Now it is targeting upcountry areas especially those famous for agriculture and fishing.
