Agriculture sector registers growth under BRN, says govt

>The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Cooperatives will, in this financial year, spend Sh40 billion in developing eight commercial farming areas for paddy and sugarcane, improve 39 irrigation schemes and renovate 145 warehouses for storing maize.

At least 10,000 out of the 75,000 traditional healers and alternative health practitioners estimated to operate in the country had been registered by the government until the end of the year.

Tanzania and Poland today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that saw the former receiving a concessional loan worth $110 million (Sh240.56) for modernization of agriculture.
