Dar runners ready for Africa meet

The national athletics team left for Beijing, China yesterday for the 5th IAAF World Championships opening on Saturday. The Championship is scheduled for August 22 to 30 in Beijing, and four Tanzanian long distance runners would jostle for laurels on behalf of the country at the event.

Tanzania athletes depart for Kampala, Uganda today for the African Cross Country Championship planned for Sunday.

The 21st meeting of the Heads of State and Government participating in the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) has decided to conduct Continental wide sensitization seminars and cited Dar es Salaam as one of the venues.
