WTO: Tourists in East Africa up 6pc

The 10th Ministereal Conference of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) will be held in Nairobi from 15th to 18th December 2015. The event is expected to be attended by trade negotiators of the 161 WTO Members States including Dr.Ekwow Spio Garbrah, the Honourable Minister for Trade and Industry , and even delegates from non-member countries. 

A four-day World Trade Organisation (WTO) meeting started in Nairobi on Tuesday and it is specially significant for such a conference is being held in Africa for the first time.

There was a sigh of relief when the 10th WTO Ministerial conference in Nairobi reached an $1.3 trillion Information Technology Agreement. The pact was agreed by a group of member countries who produce IT products and was not opposed by other WTO member states.

It is good to have a hobbyhorse. Kenya’s Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed has one – it’s the World Trade Organisation (WTO) ministerial meeting that will be held in Nairobi in December.
